MISS HELEN DANCE
Professional Dancer & Qualified Teacher of Dance & Acrobatics
I started dance at an early age & trained professionally from the age of 16 to 20 at Preston Dance College on the Professional dancers & teachers course gaining my ISTD DDI & DDE teaching qualifications in Ballet, Modern, Tap & National. These allow me to teach up to a professional dance level.
During my 4 years at Preston I also gained a foundation degree in teaching dance at UCLAN, which I studied part time along side.
I started teaching in 2010 along side studying with dance schools and after school clubs at Primary schools.
I took a 2 year teaching break 2014-2016 to perform at Disneyland Paris as face & fur characters & a parade performer.I really enjoyed performing, it was a magical and rewarding experience especially working with fantastic charities such as Make a wish by helping make children's wishes come true, however I missed teaching and creating my own choreography so returned back to Lancaster after 2 years.
When I returned back in 2016 I gained my Acrobatic teaching qualification. Since then I have had a very successful time teaching across the north west at dance schools, primary schools, preschools & for teaching agencies.
I had a baby boy in 2022 so now only teaching part time.
I left most of my dance school teaching hours when pregnant so I could return to just teaching during school hours to specialise in teaching within pre-schools & primary schools for PE & Clubs allowing all children the opportunity to access dance sessions as teaching during the evenings was no longer suitable for me.
Along side teaching I still am a professional dancer & performer & enjoy being a supporting artist for TV & Film.
